Educational Materials Building Resilience Against Disinformation – DRONE

The aim of the DRONE project is to provide training materials for schools and parents to promote digital literacy in order to combat disinformation among early adolescents. (https://mydroneproject.eu/)

Within the framework of the DRONE project, we have created digital booklets for teenagers and parents to support the fight against disinformation:

  • READING4Parents was prepared for parents and provides background information to help conversations with children.
  • READING4Teens comic book should be discussed together by parents and children.
  • READING4Youth was designed for older teenagers to work through independently.

Dear Adults!
“Discovering anything new makes a person young.”
It is worth reading the material intended for young people as well.

The ELTE Faculty of Informatics DRONE project provides comprehensive educational materials and guidelines aimed at helping parents and teenagers navigate the complexities of the digital world. These resources focus on developing media literacy and cybersecurity awareness in order to protect young people from the spread of disinformation and online manipulation.

The materials offer practical guidance on identifying fake news, managing one’s digital footprint, and using artificial intelligence responsibly, while emphasizing the importance of critical thinking. They include interactive tools, fact-checking methods, and conversation starters to encourage open family communication. The project empowers families to build digital resilience and safety in an increasingly uncertain virtual world.

The ELTE IK DRONE project not only gives us a map, but also teaches us to recognize dangerous paths (disinformation) and safe shelters (cybersecurity), so that we can navigate this terrain with confidence.

The creators of the materials, Márta Turcsányi-Szabó and Franciska Mikófalvy, have been holding workshops for parents, children, schools, and teachers on this topic for more than a year. With the downloadable materials presented here, they would like EVERYONE to feel safe. Feel free to share the POSTER!

In addition, materials for interactive workshops to prepare parents have also been developed. We are happy to share these if any school requests them by writing to Márta Turcsányi-Szabó at: tszmarta [at] inf.elte.hu.

Courses for teachers will also be available soon!
